Hand Fractures

There are eight little bones (carpal bones) in your wrist, as well as two large bones (radius and ulna) in your forearm. There is one metacarpal bone and three phalanges in each finger and one metacarpal bone and two phalanges in each thumb.

If any of the bones in your wrist are shattered or cracked, you have a broken wrist. Most frequently, the wrist is hurt when a person tries to break their fall by landing on their outstretched hand.
