Wrist Fractures

If any of the bones in your wrist are shattered or cracked, you have a broken wrist. Most frequently, the wrist is hurt when a person tries to break their fall by landing on their outstretched hand.

Participating in inline skating or snowboarding, or having a disease that causes bones to shrink and become more brittle, can increase your chance of a fractured wrist (osteoporosis).

As soon as possible, you should seek medical attention for your broken wrist. If the bones don't heal in the right place, simple tasks like writing or buttoning a shirt could become difficult. When pain and stiffness are treated early, they are less likely to worsen.
