Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation, aka as Augmentation Mammoplasty is the enlargement of the breasts which is typically done through the placement of saline or silicone implants. Those who want larger breasts, are looking to make their body proportions more symmetrical, or have lost breast volume due to significant weight loss, may want to consider looking into Breast Augmentation surgery. So what are the different types of implants that are available?

Saline Implants A These implants have a silicone outer shell and are typically filled with a sterile saltwater (solution) once the implant is inserted, leading to a smaller incision site that is less noticeable. This particular implant is less expensive than silicone implants, however there are some drawbacks. Many report that their implants are more visible underneath the skin and often feel and hear the water moving around.

Silicone Implants A Silicone implants on the other hand are made of silicone, a synthetic material which is very similar to human fat; they are a soft, elastic gel and are available in a variety of shapes and degrees of firmness. These types of implants are pre- filled with a silicone gel, and typically feel more like natural breast tissue, however if they leak, they pose more of a risk. These implants are a good option for women who do not have a lot of breast tissue and have a very natural look.
